Why donate to us?

You might be wondering, why donate your clothing to us instead of your local donation center.  Here's why.

 

          When donating clothes, you don't know where all those clothes end up.  The clothes that don't get sold in thrift stores often end up in landfills or damaging economies in developing countries.  At The Giving Branch, you know where the clothes are ending up: in our pop-up shops being sold where the proceeds go to charity.  If we aren't able to sell them, we will repurpose the left-over clothing to ensure that none of it goes to waste.                                                                                                                                    

          The places you donate your clothes make money off of them when they resell them.  What do they do with that money?  Do you know?  You do know where the money we make from selling goes.  It goes to charities fighting for workers' rights across the globe, specifically those who work in garment factories.  None of the volunteers here earn wages for their time, so you know none of the money we earn is wasted.
